How do I change the file download type on Google Chrome?

When I want to download a Microsoft Word attachment from my email, Chrome downloads the file as a Microsoft Word Processor file. How do I change it so that it downloads attachments as Microsoft Word files?|||Before downloading find the extention of word attachment and type extention after the file name eg:word.exe
